The mission of Catch a Falling Star is to strengthen the physical and social skills of children of all abilities, while promoting inclusion in everyday living.
Catch a Falling Star promotes socialization and inclusion through after-school programming. We have been developing our programs since 2006 and due to the high success rate; in August 2009 our programs will be offered in 3 St. Louis Area Schools.
We will be offering our unique programs in the following schools:
Central Elementary School – Ferguson-Florissant
Gateway Michaels Elementary School – St. Louis City
Mason Elementary School – St. Louis City
We have 2 projects that are completed by the students in our after-school programs. The students work in the Computer and Science activities to produce a Science Fair. The Music and Dance components are used to produce at Talent Show. The Art component designs science projects and the Talent Show set. Both of these long-term projects develop accountability, respect and confidence in our children. The goal of our programs is to develop socialization skills and to teach kids about inclusion, acceptance of children of all abilities.
